That was satisfying

I should start by saying I adore the Castlevania series, and I stumbled upon this movie while I was looking for the legitimate fight in the game SOTN (On youtube of course). To see this fight in such a grand scale makes me happy to see that some fans are willing to make some of the conflicts within the story a little more faithful to what the characters are capable of.

As much as I loved watching this fight, and I'm very sure that a great deal of thought was put into the setting and general choreography, and lest I forget the superb animation. However, I was dissapointed in the lack of abilities Richter displayed, especially the famous grand cross. I also find myself slightly irked by the abilities that Alucard used, considering that some of them were made up for this flash movie. Perhaps I'm just nitpicking, I don't know why these things bother me, I suppose I'm just the sort of person that desires 100% loyal content.

Don't get me wrong, once again I loved this movie. You could even consider it a good thing that I found the only flaws in the movie to be very negligable ones. It pleases me greatly to see a fan go through such lengths to make an excellent movie dedicated to the more badass characters in Castlevania. Know that I'll be looking foward to your future contributions to Castlevania. I know I'd love to see something featuring Simon Belmont, or perhaps Soma Cruz.

RopeDrink responds:

Well the fact of the matter is quite simple - If I made it 100% loyal, it'd be hack'n'slash of what we've all seen in the game before and it makes it very VERY hard to break any boundries and spice up the fight.

Alucard & Richter are very VERY limited in moveset and animation so I bust my back to try and few new ways to spice it up as well as stay mostly loyal and use all the abilities I could get working.

In the original ending, Richter was to use his Holy Cross Break, however it got cut and I said (In my mind) that at least something was left to be used in a new version, if I ever get around to making one. I'd hate to think of every character having used ALL their moves in one movie, then just simply reusing them in another, so it's a good thing to remember.

If I ever do make one, it'll be SOTN based only I'm afraid - I've only played the NES CV's to the PSX SOTN, with exception to one on the GBAdvance, I've not touched the more recent ones so I can understand a lot of people asking for Soma etc but the fact is I refuse to animate a flash based on games & characters I've never played as - It's be pretty heartless of me to do so :/

Still, thank you for the honest and meaty review - It's much appreciated!

For once, something that's not about penises

This movie can really relate to the true nature of a cartoon. Though the art wasn't on par with some of the front page flashes, it compensates by being very colorful and original. I honestly enjoyed this, and due to the movie's spontaneous nature I found myself cracking a smile every now and then. This movie takes a bold step into a website like this, with penis jokes becoming the immature comedy standard; as well as an animation style that slightly represents anime. I believe the popularity this movie has received on the website was well deserved.

All I can say is, keep up the good work. You really have improved over this time span.

Jimtopia responds:

The artwork is supposed to be simple, so if you find it not "on par with some of the frontpage cartoons" that's fine. I do draw some inspiration from anime when it comes to facial expressions, and movements, but I try to stay fairly... north american(?) when it comes to the characters. It's great to hear from you again C-and-S, good to see you are still around.

Vert bland

Honestly, this quiz wasn't neccesarily fun, useful, or if it even needed to be made. However, everything is intellegent and well done. The actionscripting works well, and there's nothing really wrong with it. Make a better backround, and nice work. On your next project, make something different.

IceDragon64 responds:

I made it because many people have seen my quizzes and asked for more, so I dont really care if you think it didnt need to be made.
Do let me know what kind of background you would think is better and I will consider it. If you look in my submissions you will find that I HAVE made things that are different and I work with many other people on thier flash. However, thank you for taking the time to review.
Ice

One of the greatest flashes i've ever seen.

Really good idea, and very well executed. You took a lot of time to make loops and individual deaths for every person. You should have more scenario's if you're going to make a fifth one, because those are my favorites. These scenarios can lead to a shoot out or passing peacfully. The little clips you took of a dark voice like duke nuken or something were class A. The little acting parts were pretty funny. The best part was the high-five with the henchmen. The sniper part looked like a lot of fun, so that could've been a little longer. You should have full blown out missions with different scenarios. I have ideas that can improve the series in a whole way.

More then one person in first person interaction scenes. I know it'd be hard, because if you did three you'd have to make 9 different footage tapes, but it'd be a lot of fun.

More scenarios, because it's good to take a pause and think of what to do next. There were only two in this movie.

Several mission sequences, and some cutscenes. I mean as in connection the first person parts, and then something like this happens. Rescue hostages, they give you directions to the bad guy, the bad guy escapes, you fight a boss of some sort, then you get up to the bad guy. That's three different sequences that could be put in cutscenes that'd lead to a shootout or another mission part. If you want, you can contact me to get a bigger idea of what I mean at Christopherob9 at yahoo(urls aren't accepted).

The series it great, but with some new ideas and adding some length you can really evolve it and make it explode.

Great game

This is the kind of game that gets you on the edge of your seat. Well done Jimtopia. I haven't had this much fun with a game in a long time. I really enjoyed it, and the graphics were trippy. The game isn't very hard though, but i'm happy you made it less hard and more fun. Really good ideas with all of the different level gameplay aspects. I especially liked level 3. The game was fairly easy though, but at least it wasn't as impossible as the first one. Good job.

Also, to those who thought the trailing note was a problem, it wasn't for me at all. It never got in the way, and only complete retards can't tell the difference between something solid and something transparent. I could very easily see the real one, and only people that didn't like the game would use it as a scapegoat to why it "sucks". Good job Jimtopia. This is such a good game, and it deserves a lot more praise.

Jimtopia responds:

Thx C_and_S, I'm glad to hear you say that. Thx for an honest review.

Generally not a bad song

It's not a bad song. I can tell that there was time put into it. I just have a very, very big problem with it. This is not punk music. This is an ABOMNATION of what punk music sounds like and represents. Listen to something called fight for your life by the Casualties. THAT'S punk music. Good job on the song.
